My 75 year old father in law new ebike project
I had to smile when my 75 year old father in law got the electric bicycle bug last week. He tends to march to his own drummer, and I was surprised to see how he solved the battery problem with frugality. He recycled a spare lead acid battery and put it into a homemade trailer. He has parked his automobile, and is bicycling everywhere. (Which is ironic, going carfree, as he teaches automobile mechanics as the local junior college.)

I don't know that he has tested full range. He uses it around his small town, I think his one way commute to his job is only 5 miles.
One can guess that his 12V automotive battery holds a lot of power, probably 80+ amp hours, so I also would guess that he would have an impressive total full range.
