Diagnostic help for 48V 1000w Chinese Easy Racer conversioon
With a Chinese kit, I turned my Easy Racer recumbent into an electric bike a couple of years ago. It was a very impressive machine until it quit suddenly one day, for no obvious reason. It was a complete, sudden and total failure.
It still has 48+ volts coming out of the battery controller, but no power any place else. No power shows in thumb throttle or the headlight/ key/ power meter/horn.
I have done what diagnostics that seem obvious to me.
The key switch is working
I checked the brake lever switches and they are ok.
suggestions please.
Thanks
Larry

Have you actually checked continuity in each wire with a multimeter, or do ya mean visually fine? Have a wiring diagram handy that might make it a bit easier to diagnose? Would be good to know exactly how your battery controller works, and exactly how the current being supplied to the motor is being regulated.

There has never been a smell of anything overheating or burning.
I do appreciate all the suggestions that have been offered. Now I just need to spend a day implementing them.
Thanks
