Convert Bionx System to non-power assist?

I purchased a Bionx system a year ago. I have 6 mile commute one way but find that I still get to work soaked with perspiration. (It's genetic.) Is there a way to convert the Bionx from pedal assist to non-pedal assist?
If not, is there another electric system that would allow me to still use the nimh battery 24v battery?

Mine has a throttle. I think you can order a throttle to go with yours, if you don't already have one.

You could use throttle only (no pedaling) for the 6 miles in the morning if you wanted. ...In fact, that was my original intent with my Bionx--throttle in the morning and pedal in the afternoon.

thanks!

Just wanted to say thanks for the info. The Bionx people are tough to get a hold of.
I contacted a local store and they said can test a throttle there.
By the way, does it work pretty good going up inclines?
Well, I hope to find out soon.
Thanks again.

I can go up an incline on throttle alone. Some warnings, though. 1) Most of my terrain is pretty flat. My inclines are probably a lot shorter and less steep than most. 2) I've never tried starting with throttle alone on an incline. I've always done it with momentum. 3) The bike will slow down as you go up the hill (just like you would if you were pedaling). If it's a big hill, you might need to add some pedal power of your own. You can pedal and throttle at the same time, if needed.

Good luck. I hope this works for you. A throttle is whole lot cheaper than a brand new set-up.

yes you can use only the Throttle

If you are in North America, you can buy a new console that will have a throttle. With the throttle you will no longer need to pedal all the time.

The second solution is to have more power with your level 4 of assistance. That can be adjust by a dealer with a special programming. If your dealer don't know how to do it, you can ask him to contact Alex from BionX.

purchased a throttle and it works

I purchased a throttle and had it installed on my bike and it works.
Now I just need to do some more test rides.
Thanks for the input.
