ANYONE OWN A 1200watt or 900w cyclone kit
HI THERE.
im really thinking about purchasing a 48v 1200watt cyclone kit..or the 900watt 36v cyclone kit
theres a guy on utube with a (1200watt cyclone kit) really nice & powerful ride for 48v,has got me pretty much sold on the cyclone kit...
whilst your on utube check out the 2000watt cyclone kit blast thru traffic..
just utube fastest ebike title & you should see the video. crazy fast but a top vid.
i apologies i dont have that (click to the link) im talking about.im not that good with computers
so if anyone here can convince me not to buy the kit then please shed your thoughts

This is an impressive and handsome bike. However for me an "electrified" bike must be very similar to an ordinary (nonmotorized) bike. People should not be aware of the electric attachments immediately and the motor must be silent. Why? Because this ensures lighter weight, simpler design, and less trouble with authorities and most importantly you still enjoy the same unadulterated feeling of riding a bicycle. Yes this would mean a less powerful motor but if power is what's needed there are better proper electric bikes (scooters?) around. This is just me though and there must be a point in it that does not count for me.

There's a little something for everyone with electric bikes. Assisted or Full Power its all good.
So far I've only gotten her up to 50 km/h before I backed off the throttle. Still had plenty of gears left to upshift. Paco from Cyclone figures I should be able to hit 80 km/h with my gearing. O.*

first up,nice ride i like it alot
are you using the cyclone stock controller....
any tips from your experience that are worth noteing,
ive already been advised,that the cyclone freewheel aint good.but can source some usa made ones....
have you had to make any mods to the motors sprocket,or controller

Thanks for diggin' the Bike. Yes, I am using the stock controller for the moment. So far so good. i have it mounted underneath my rear rack now. Better than on the side of the bike. May also make for a better air cooling.
Tips? Hmmmm, well each bike you'll mount a Cyclone kit is different so it's all about having patience. I wrestled (literally) for about 2 weeks trying to figure out how I might mount the motor into the inside of the triangle, contemplating cutting either the frame or motor case. You can simply bolt it all on as it was intended or custom fit it to your frame as you desire. Nothing custom on my mounting for the DT.
Your right about the freewheel being a bit low quality. I will run the OEM one till it dies then go with a quality replacement as you've mentioned.
Another tip would be to consider the amount of torque. Wheelies from a dead start and frame twisting for sure. I have noted that my swing arm actually flexes to the right (drive side) when I accelerate hard. Knowing that it would be ideal to keep an eye on the swing arm bearings and pivot. I'm certain Dr. Yan didn't really have this in mind when he came up with the Downtube folder...
Riding in traffic add higher speeds may be fun and exciting but be very cautious of cars. Drivers do not perceive you to be travelling faster and will underestimate your presence. They may see you as they pass you on the road but do not expect you to catch up quickly when they slow down to make a right turn and inadvertently cut you off.
Mind the throttle, an eye on the drivers and another eye on your speed. Its quite easy and tempting to crank her hard and fly. Till the local authorities take notice and ground you.
