Bike Battery Keeps Falling
Help! My bike battery is always about to fall off or something because it's really big. I'm wondering if any of you guys know any good bike baskets or cages to put on the rear to keep it from falling and not having to worry about it.
OR
Should I just make one using those milk crates. They look sturdy but I'm kinda afraid it's gonna fall and kill the battery =(

keeping batterys on bike
HI with out seeing or knowing what size batterys you are talking about its difficult to give much advice but i can tell you how i keep mine on. i have 4 20aph 12v golf trolley batterys on the back. they are in a cloth type tool box bought in homebase i think great bag zip top and plastic bottom witch is secured to my steel rack by nuts and bolts. i had to drill through the bottom of bag but its secure and will hold batterys plus controller. post some pics and then members could give better advice, cheers rob. cornwall.

You may want to look into the MTX series cases from Topeak
Their rack systems have a rail on them that mount the bag on ULTRA securely:
If you don't like the bag, you can take the rail and attach it to a Pelican Case, or a

Ok thanks, but I have gotten a bike rack, and I'm wondering if there is any way I can attach some type of rod from the wheel axle to the bike rack. So, it doesn't bounce as much and doesn't turn

No, but you can find something similar. Just look in the hardware store. Look for something that might work, and if needed drill a hole to attach to your bike frame, and use a pipe clamp to bind it to the rack.
The pipe clamp costs like $2. There are millions of them in the plumbing section.

Looks like a real home brew of various bit's of square tube aluminum, strips of polycarbonate, and steel tubes....all bolted together and fastened to the seat post by a couple steering type "dog bones". Pretty heavy duty.
I'm sure it's all detailed someplace on the "endless sphere" site, as he's one of them. Those guys do some fabulous engineering over there, and there isn't any detail about electric bikes and propulsion systems that they haven't covered.

Right now I am using a plastic toolbox and a rachet strap. I install a key lock on the wrachet strap for security. I installed hooks and padding inside the box that I use rubber bungy straps to secure my controler and battery. The wrachet strap is also internal and exists through slits I made in the bottom of the box. I used small rubber coated brackets secured to the bottom of the toolbox to firmly secure the box from side to side motion to the rack. Its a bit much for most but its 100% weather proof. Its 100% secure. Install a small key or combo lock on the box itself and its pretty safe from theft. I will post pictures soon. The rack and everything cost me around 35$. Thats a strong steel rack with colapsable side baskets, the box and a few peaces of hardware you can get almost anyplace.

Is it also a problem if my rear wheel always is flat when I ride? Cause after I pump, I think the weight of the battery and motor like squeeze the air out...anyway to fix that?

Your tire should be able to hold air even with the battery and motor in back. Sounds like you may have a leak. Take the rear wheel off and check the tire and tube. I'd also suggest that you keep max. PSI in the tires.
