Electric Bike 50-60mph - UK
I'm trying to find links to this specialized electric bicycle that has a special battery that gets 200 hours of operation on only one charge, and will hit 50-60mph top speed.
The motor is a specially designed motor ... I can't remember the name of the man who rides this bicycle ... Can anyone help me out here, so I can find the links ... ??? |
Is it this one?

If it's the Erokit that you're interested in, I hope you have deep pockets. The cost is 30,000 Euros or about $44,000. It's a sweet invention, but it's one of those that may die an early death because it's priced beyond the reach of most people. I do like the fact that you have to pedal to make the bike move and that pedaling helps recharge the battery, but the fact you have to pedal may turn off some potential buyers who just want to hit a throttle to make a motorbike move. Here's the You Tube link to an NTD Tech video about the bike. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=34r1x...eature=related

Well, they may have lowered the price to 12,460 euros or about $18,200 (a news release last month announced the price reduction, but the price isn't mentioned on the erockit website). http://www.greenmuze.com/climate/tra...price-tag.html According to the erockit website, they don't manufacture many of these in a year--only 10 are being built this year. http://www.erockit.net/en/company/history/

18 grand? only? and it does all that???
I'd buy one :thumb: |
I'll wait for ultracapacitors and printable $1/watt printed solar panels (perhaps 2-3 years tops).
|
You may have a long wait for safe ultracaps: stored energy is proportional to voltage squared.

i'm one of those folks who buy something that's just come out...
you know when debit cards were first introduced, and you waited in line behind this dork who was holding everybody up because the debit system negotiating his transaction? well that dork was me :roflmao2: |

http://www.electronicsweekly.com/blo...ak/erockit.jpg Now why can't the principle of this motor be applied to a vehicle with three or four wheels and a cover? Eco-friendly transportation problem solved. What is the matter with people? So frustrating. |

What you really want to know is how to do that within a reasonable cost.. Not plausible right now.

I really like the E-roket from Germany, but the price is a bit ridiculous, i rather buy a CAR at that price even a REAL GAS motorcycle cost less than the E-Roket.
one of the reason i like the e-rocket is because it can be riden as a normal bike, and even make it look like a normal bike, and not have to get it licensed, etc, etc. but the price makes it totally not worth while. for a fraction of that price i'd rather get this http://www.zeromotorcycles.com/zero-ds/ it's an Electric bike made to look like a Motorcycle, and rides as fast as a top speed limit on most North America countries, so it's perfect, the price is afortable for normal human beings the only hassle is that you will most likely need to get it licensed and registered as a normal motorbike |
