Burnt controller

I have a 1200 W 3 wheel Cyclone Motor kit on a full suspension mountain bike. I fried my controller & am waiting for a repair. I am wondering if I can learn how to upgrade my controller(if possible) to avoid this problem. I am looking for a good source to learn more about the electronics of my system with the hope that maybe I good work on it at some point. Any recommendations for the controller or a good source of information to learn more.

I've heard of people adding more mosfets in their controller. Maybe that is what you need? I don't know if there are many cyclone users here. You can talk to more cyclone users here:

There is a bit of information at http://www.ebike.ca/troubleshooting.shtml

Some time ago, there was some very usefull information on controllers. Of course its in my old computer somewhere, and I am working
on the new computer. But I thought it was also on endless sphere. I will look for it and try to post it here.

Thanks for the info. I will investigate masfets & the check the websites mentioned. I am also looking for a basic sourece; maybe a book on DC motors, controllers, throttles etc so I can understand more & potentially work on some of the components. I have some basic experience with residential electricity as I own apartments & have the opportunity to replace stuff & chase down shorts. Any suggestions?
