Currie 24V10Ah SLA, Battery Sluggish

I have not used my batteries in 6 month but did charge them a couple of times over the 6 month. The batteries are over a year old and was used through the winter.

I was wondering if this is normal and if there is any way of reviving them.

If you feel they are less powerful then they were then you have t odecide to ether live with it or to replace them. There is no way to revive them. If you decide to replace the pack consider upgrading to Thunder Sky lifepo4 packs. But get all the infor first. https://elitepowersolutions.com/produ...products_id=74

I ordered lifepo4 batteries but until I get them. I replaced the batteries with 2 Lead Acid 12V 9AH from an old UPS. The terminals were pretty corroded on the old batteries. The power is back to the motor.

I'm still NOT convinced these SLA batteries can NOT be revived. Personally, I think they can be. I'm so blasted busy though so I don't have a lot of time to experiment. I think my Renaissance charger CAN bring these SLA batteries back to life. The primary reason these batteries fail is due to the evaporation of electrolyte over many recharge cycles. These SLA batteries can be opened and refilled. However, I need more time to verify this procedure.

Hello group....Did anyone here get one of there upgraded batteries for their eZip trails?
Looks good, they slide into the rear carriers. Kinda expensive. Im wondering how the performance is?

No, but Currie says they can't keep these packs in stock. Notice that their stock levels are frequently "out of stock".

BTW, if one already owns a Currie electric bicycle with a RMB SLA pack, Currie gives the customer a $100 discount on this pack.

You aren't going to get very far down the road on 100 watt hours of energy, on a small SLA like that...I get about 45 miles on 700 watt hours of lithium with continuous pedaling in moderately hilly conditions. Divided by 7, that is about 6 miles...time to drink the lithium koolaid!

Thank you chvid for confirming this. I could not get more then 8 miles in warm weather and 5 miles in cold weather. Even when I pedaled hard. Some people on the forum said they get over 20 miles.

Do you know which number to call for this discount or if there is a flyer or some proof of it? I tried calling the number on currie's site and they said web order department doesn't have such discount and that it might be from another department. If not, they need some proof like a flyer or something for the $100 discount. Thanks.
