Main Power Line. Un-Plug during charging?
Is it recommended or wise to unhook the main power, while charging the battery?
That plug is going to break if I don't find an alternative. I'd like to start leaving the bike plugged up as much as possible, until I can find a kill switch or breaker.
My biggest fear is some kid walking up to my parked bike and hitting the throttle.
And of course damaging my batteries while charging.
So what of it?
Oh, I'm using SLA btw...

How about a basic kill switch? They have them at auto parts stores, or wal-mart. Of course it ain't pretty.

Auto parts stores would also have keyed ignitions that may work, but I don't know the ratings.

Yeah, I'm going to do something like that...
Problem is... I'm so broke, I can't pay attention.
Next paycheck I'm going to get a dual leg kickstand. A 48VDC / 12VDC step down converter. (For future headlights and horn.) A mirror. A kill switch of some sort, and perhaps some panniers or side bags, etc. I need two new shifter cables too.

I wonder if I could construct some sort of light weight wooden box that would fit neatly into a side bag. (Without throwing my bike out of balance, or adding much more weight.)
How are you supposed to mount a kill switch like that to a bike?!? hehe

I was also thinking of duct taping a beefy circuit breaker to the bottom of my seat. That could work, and would double as a fuse.

Well, since you're not against duct-tape.... A $.99 light switch from WalMart would do the job.
