What Electric bike??
I was going to get a scooter but I don't think the uk law lets me use them on a path or road but on a Electric bike I can use that so might as well get one off them.
What bike is good for someone 17stone but will also get me far with a ok speed?
I don't want to spend alot tho so I would say £300 - £450 ish max?
Thanks,
Paul

is that $800 in US dollars? You could probably put together something for that much. I don't know how good it will be.
https://emissions-free.com/catalog/i14.html
(that guy is british...check it out...https://emissions-free.com/id1.html )
And you got
ampedbikes.com
hightekbikes.com
ebikes.ca
Not sure which ones ship to UK. I'm pretty sure ebikes.ca does. Don't buy SLA batteries. You can get LIPO or lifepo4 these days for a little more money and they are much better.
I guess emissions-free.com would be your best bet probably since he's british and probably operates in the UK.

You could go with a rear kit for that. Don't know about a front wheel kit. The picture doesn't show the front dropouts very well.

You're on such a tight budget I'd be afraid to recommend anything. When I went E-bike I was comparing the cost to Motorcycles. I'm semi-retired and needed a hobby. I love bicycling. I've ordered an Xtracycle kit so soon I'll be on build 1.5. The rain has finally stopped for a couple hours so i'm off on a pedal bike ride now.

It started raining 45 minutes into my ride. It wasn't too heavy so I was still happy to get one in. I don't know what kind of import tarrifs you have. If you don't have to pay tarrifs 450 pounds is $750 US. While I'm sure it's possible to get a Kit with batteries for this amount, I've spent nearly twice that. Of course I ride bicycles when it's raining so how sane can I be? Sangesf seems to be into the lower cost kits

When the application arises, lower cost, less power kits work well..
Even in higher power requirements DUAL low power kits with dual batteries work well too.
In very high power requirements, the $750+ kits are great for single motor, constant hill climbing requirements..
It all depends on the application...

One point I should state is that when I bought my Kit I had a long range Tadpole trike like corkscrew is building in mind. Version 1.5 is underway. I've ordered a XtraCycle kit to convert the Giant Sedona into a LongTail Utility Bike. It'll be heavy but could easily carry as many batteries as I need.
