Front or Rear wheel drive?

I searched and could not find a specific thread on this. Just a few bits here and there as related to breaking spokes and deceiving other cyclists by hiding your motor under bags...
For those of you with experience, do you recommend front or rear wheel drive please? It will be for my Sun Cargo long tail. It will include winter riding with ice patches and slush here in metro Detroit. With and without a load of groceries, yard sale junk, parts or the occasional bike in tow (fork clamped to rear rack and rear wheel trailing on the ground behind me.
Thanks!

Front wheel installation is the easiest...
Rear Wheel is much better for traction, control and power.

A front hub install gives you all-wheel drive (so long as you use your pedals).

I found the front wheel geared drive I got from ampedbikes to be difficult to control in city traffic. I sent it back as it did not suit my needs....

I have used both, a lot, and it depends on many factors, up to 500w with the right fork, front is " ok " but for your setup, go with a rear motor..

Be aware that most hub setups will be freewheel only ( thread on type ) and that the rims are generally centered on the hubs and not dished for strenght reasons.. some hubs are built properly with an offset at teh axle, some are not... look into an eZee from ebikes.ca imo..
