Help! new eZip Trailz owner looking to make modifications!
Greetings all - I am new the the eBike scene. I recently purchased a 2008 eZip Trailz bike. I purchased this model since it was cheap, and I didn't want to invest a lot of money if I didn't get much use out of it.
My issue is that I would like the bike to go a little faster. I have a 20 mile commute, and I currently drive 10 miles, and bike the rest.
I have seen some sites telling you that you can increase the speed up to 24 MPH plus by switching some parts (e.g., 20T to 16T southpaw freewheel).
The problem is that I don't have the technical skills to make the mods myself. I am looking to see if anyone in the Chicago area has experience with these types of bikes.
With that introduction, my question is two-fold:
1. What mods can you make to the bike that are inexpensive; and
2. Is there someone within 40 miles of Brookfield (essentially Chicago) that could help me out. I could pay a reasonable fee for someone to do it.
What are your thoughts?
