Jury still out

Today's ride was a flop. Its only 7 miles from my front door to a trail head where I can go hiking and even get fresh water out of a mountain stream.

The first 2 miles are almost flat but the remaining 5 raises 2500' I bought the conversion kit specifically for this, to see if I can get up here with out spending myself doing it.

First off it was 30f this morning meaning I would have to lug along a sweatshirt. With some disgust I started late in the morning. The omen that should have tipped me off was that I happened to catch the village creep outside his door, he was giving me that thousand yard stare that only a twisted mind can do. Next I forgot my water bottle. No worry, I had another half gallon in the bottom of my bag.

I was just starting the climb when I was getting hot. Taking off the sweatshirt called for the sun block, I forgot that too. Thanks for the memories. Here is some of that road, looking back

Some of the hiking trail is good enough for a bike-

But, I need to bring an axe or a saw...

So, I can't say if I'm pleased with my ebike conversion kit yet.

Wow, you must have a computerized electric bike if it is supposed to remind you of things you have forgotten. Even my Xtracycle won't do that for me.

Today could not have been better. I prepared the night before by having a pizza. This morning I had pancakes for breakfast. I had everything this time and got out the door at 8am, just when the rush hour ends and the kids are in school.

The task seemed just as hard, but I got there, with the picnic basket...

If more pizza isn't enough fer ya, there is trail mix and applesauce on the menu too.

A leisurely lunch and then I'm packed up to go with 2 bars still on the volt meter. And it is all down hill from here. Seeya!

Wow, that looks so great! I could not think of a better way to spend a day and still stay on topic.
