"Aerobic Cruiser" recumbent ebike
 

Saw a pair of these at my hotel in Michigan last week... sign said "rentals coming soon". They look really well engineered, some thoughtful integrated touches. Would've loved to ride one. The website is a bit light on specifics though.

The bike has very sexy lines. Looks like an Ez1 electrified with batteries way low. I wonder how much ??

Wow, I like that! While the electric part is pretty cool I would like it in a standard non electric version.

The video mentions it's got 20 lbs. of batteries yet it doesnt have disc brakes ? Looks comfy though, would love to give one a spin

powell, did you see the video or look at the web site? The Battery is low in the middle of the frame. So what are you talking about?

I would guess it will be not over $2k.

I wonder, is ANY of the pedal power actually transmitted to the rear tire or is it all put towards generation of electricity to recharge the batteries? If this thing DOES sell for around $2K I would be VERY interested but I don't see it happening.

The chain goes from the pedal to the rear sprocket, that means the rider's effort is being transmitted to the rear tire like on every other bicycle.
It looks like any number of Rans recumbents with a standard rear hub motor. It's a single speed so no derailers in its cost, standard rim brakes, nothing revolutionary about that bike. The only technology on it that hasen't been off the shelf since the 1920s is the lithium battery. $2k actually on the high side of what its price point should be.

Sorry for the bad cell-cam pic, but yes, it's basically a recumbent with motor assist, thumb throttle on the bars. I'm presuming it's throttle driven and not true pedal assist.

I emailed weeks ago asking for more info and have heard nothing from this manufacturer.

Does anyone know if this thing is ever going to become a reality?

I've got a long-wheelbase Sun EZSport CX with relaxed geometry like this, and two big lithium packs right under the seat on the mid-rack, with a front Nine-Continent hub motor. It rides just about the same as this bike and cost about 2000 dollars with batteries (48V 15Ahr). Definitely the Cadillac of my ebike fleets, except for the Catrike. So you don't need to spend a fortune to get a bike like this. It lacks suspension, but that isn't an issue on a big Cromo frame, with Big Apple tires on the back.

The answer to the initial question is that the current prices is somewhere between $1,500 and $1,750. Which considering the components is a bargin.

I bought one after first going to the production facility in Cordova, TN and taking a test ride.

Basically it says I really like the bike, gives some of the more technical information on the electric parts of the bike and some performance data plus lists a couple of minor issues that have occurred with the "bike" part of the ebike.
