Exclamation Have you broken a BionX rear axle?

I broke my second axle a few weeks back and was wondering if it's something I'm doing or whether other folks manage to break them? I commute around 3000 miles/year on NYC streets and some are a bit crappy. Still, I commuted using fairly crappy hybrids for 10 years and 30,000+ miles before getting an ebike and never managed to break an axle.

When you break that axle, it means the motor is effectively dead because it's integrated with the axle. BionX does not seem to have a way to replace the axle so the cost is another wheel, around $800.

No broken axle, or any other major problems, just 3 broken spokes in the 1,200 miles ridden on terrible roads and about 275 Lbs total weight for bike, rider and my stuff...

Maybe I should add that mine is a Trek Valencia+ with the BionX integrated, but I think it's still just a plain Gen1 350 wheel.

Got my bike running again, it wasn't the axle I was the free wheel part of the rear cassette...
