like a hot-shot, but really weatherproof?

on the rear of my commuter bike I've got a red-zone-8 (SUPER AWSOME!) and a cygolite hot-shot.

i like the hot-shot, especially after being modified with a PBSF mount, but this is the second one i've had that craps out every time i ride in a decent rain. i'm not happy with their claims that "all Cygolite systems are designed to be weather resistant and will work normally in rainy conditions".

so... what's another good, weather-proof compliment to a red-zone-8, that can be clipped to a pannier rack?

i've got some PBSF turbos, some radbot-1000s, and a danger-zone, but the hot-shot pisses all over them... when it's working.

the moon shield looks good, but there doesn't seem to be a good way to mount it on a rear-rack.

what else do y'all recommend?

Weird, my hot shot hasn't died in the rain yet. I had a Serfas die in the rain, they replaced it and it was fine until I lost it.

IMO the Performance Bike Axiom Pulse 60 is a good replacement for the hot shot. About as bright but a better (wider) beam, about the same money. Hasn't died in the rain on me yet.

It's a clone of the Serfas TL-60 (or something like that, can't remember the exact number). 60 lumens.

I'd like to know how you adapted a PBSF mount to work with your cygolite!

Maybe you should try some transparent tape around the edges. Or maybe some silicone glue. I also ride in the rain and haven't had problems.
