vívofit® 2 and Fitbits
/i like to ask if anyone out there has a Fit Bit or a vívofit® 2
thinking of getting one just for sleeping or day to day use.
Question i have, do you need to wear your chest belt to get the HRT readings? or does it read it from your wrist? thanks

Reads from the wrist and reports say they're none too accurate. They do well for monitoring sleep.

I went for the fitbit one because the HRM was pretty bad and I didn't want a huge watch on my delicate wrist. I've been happy with the fitbit one for hiking and walking. I have a garmin GPS for the bike, but the fitbit is good for counting cadence if you attach it to your foot when you bike.

Girlfriend has a Fitbit Charge HR; it's good for counting steps, but those aren't really great exercise. Does sleep if you wear it to bed and will take your resting heart rate, which can be good to know for basing your zones off. The heart monitor is not good for exercise, though, and neither is fitbit's software. (It gives you your HR only in five minute blocks on the web.)
I think with the Vivifit you need to wear a HRM (chest strap or an ANT+ wrist or arm one).

Oh really thanks. What i am looking for is really just to have something simple to monitor my resting HRT and maybe sleep without strapping on a chest strap . I already have that for when i go riding etc. just was looking for a simple idea.
So really the question is what would be the best device that keep things simple, will monitor sleep, resting HRT and i can upload it to my Garmin Connect and training peaks? open to suggestions thanks
