2 devices for one HRT chest monitor strap?

I was I was wondering if wearing two monitors. put extra strain on my HRT chest strap battery. with 2 devices running at same time

as in using my Garmin 500 edge on my bike and Garmin forerunning monitor on my wrist , using them at same time, does it make battery in chest strap power more?

No the strap just broadcasts your HR to whatever devices are listening. It's transmit only.

This is true with ANT.

BT should not allow this.

Garmin 500 and Forerunner don't support BT. Bluetooth low energy also supports broadcast (TX only) devices. I'm not familiar with BT HR straps but they lend themselves to being broadcast devices as there isn't a need to communicate with a host device.

I use my chest strap (Garmin HRM-RUN) with my Edge 800 and my Fenix 3 all the time. Power meter talks to both of them too.

Your HRM doesn't know what it's talking to, it's just broadcasting for anyone who wants to listen. The reason you pair it is so your Edge can record your HR instead of the guy next to you in a group ride.
