Simple cadence+speed+odometer computer
Looking for a wireless speed+cadence computer.
Sigma looks the part. There are, however, mixed reviews regarding sensors reliability.
Comments/suggestions appreciated.
(This summer I became used to constant feedback while touring. I do not expect to use a smart phone on a regular basis when not on tour. Therefore exploring simple computers to get speed and cadence, auto start and odometer. Long battery life, small screen)

Simple to set up and reliable. You'll have to shop around for the best price.
Isn't the Strada Cadence a wired unit?

In case I misunderstood your last paragraph, then I had a Cateye Strada Double Wireless that used two CR2032 batteries and gave me several years of very reliable service. Battery life for the control unit and the sensor were excellent.

For about $200, you could get a Garmin Edge 25 and Speed/Cadence sensors, and really have a full suite of capabilities including mapping, live tracking, course direction, direct uploads and heart rate capability. The Edge 25 itself is $170, and battery is USB rechargeable with 8hrs run time.

I'd like a simple computer to keep a total distance log and to always have speed/cadence without the need to start an app. (Or when navigating with Google maps).
I hesitate between the Sigma 16.12 and the Bontrager Node 1.1. Sigma uses proprietary technology (STS). Bontrager is ANT+ compatible but may not be as reliable.

I have a 910XT that is somewhat equivalent to the 25. Very useful for training indeed.

I don't have a clue about how they measure CADENCE, but those old-fashioned bike speedometers have an odometer and use no batteries.
That's as simple as you can get, and cheaper.
I realize I'm probably of no use to your quest for a gizmo with an LCD screen though...I come from a different world I guess.

Yes. A Galaxy S5 running Locus, fed speed and cadence data from Garmin's ANT+ sensors. The phone is powered by a dynamo hub. Really excellent system. Only problem is that when it rains, the touch screen is triggered by raindrops.

Non omnino gravis
My first computer was a Sigma STS 16.12 CAD, and it worked great right up until the day it didn't. Lost contact with both sensors one day, and even after multiple resets, never quite got them back. Went to GPS afterward.
My wife ran a Cateye Strada Slim for almost 2 years, and it never had an issue. Went the whole time on one battery, if memory serves. The Padrone is basically the same thing with a bigger display.

I, OTOH Hid My Computer well down on the right fork Blade , it was a wired computer
Wired with Plugs in the underside . I, stopped, could pull it off , see the Mile count on it
& use the Trip function at Miles to Go signs, and then put it back.
Back to your Brand favoritism dialogs.. Shoppers and Tekkies
