Sigma 1606 Question

I recently installed the 1606 on my bike. In the instruction manual there was a diagram of a foam pad for the speed magnet to go against blade spokes. Well there was not one and when I contacted Sigma they told me that this was a print error and that a foam piece was never included.

My question for everyone:

If you have the 1606 and have blade spokes do you use something to spread the pressure over a greater area? What do you use? I could find a piece of foam somewhere but if others have found another useful item that can commonly be found I would like to hear.

Thanks for your help.

What's with these companies that use diagrams and pictures instead of words in their instructions? I see this happening more and more- like nobody can read anymore. I installed a Sigma computer and just had to figure it out myself since their idiot diagrams made no sense.

They do it to save translation costs, plain and simple. Well, not so plain, as it turns out. Drives me crazy.

Aaaaargh

So my Sigma 1606L DTS arrived. Lucky for the fates my track record for gadgets is still zero.

While the crazy glue sets between the nut and plastic can anyone offer any suggestions on how to mount the magnet on the spoke? No I am not simple minded. I placed the magnet where the "Billy age 5" diagram seemed to indicate and tightened. At about 5 lbs of torque the nut stripped out of the plastic magnet housing I I was left to find a hammer and glue.

Photos or sketches by children at least 10 year old would help greatly.
