Anyone here using the Oregon Scientific ATC 2K camera kit? My first problem was mounting it - my three bikes all have 31.8 bars and the clamp is too small for any of them. Both my helmets (Giro Atmos) have a ridge along the center that makes the helmet mount impossible to secure except off-center, which results in the helmet pulling to the side. If center the camera on the Atmos it'll wiggle on the ridge, making impossible to get a stable image. I finally managed to mount the bar clamp around the bottom portion of the drop bars on my road bike.
It stayed on until I went through an intersection at 27-30mph (4-5% downgrade so no TdF feat here) at which point the camera went airborne. It didn't seem any worse for wear though. After this I clamped it on as hard as I could, and it seemed to stay on. Now it randomly shuts off after a few minutes. It did this twice on my commute. At one light it's recording, at the next it has shut itself off. I'm using brand new Alkaline batteries and an empty Sandisk Ultra II 2GB card that works fine in several cameras (it's now retired since I've switched to 4GB cards for my photography). I left it on ten minutes at my desk when I got to work, and it didn't shut off at all, so it's probably vibration or RF interferance. (My Edge 305 goes nuts several times at certain - different - places along the same commute.)
It would be interesting to know what others have come up with?
It's a very nice little camera though, very rugged and - as I can attest - durable!

I use the ATC2K on my helmet with the rubbery strap right now. Sidemounted so I do get a bit of that lopsidedness at times, but it's otherwise fine. I'm considering both a central mount with the velcro strap, on my helmet and the bar-mount put somewhere on my bike (top tube or stem as the tops on my drops are full and I don't want it on the bottom).
