I dunno...I ended up with 3 x 200L... I think I will unload one next week and then maybe  Really, it looks like one of the best deals out there for the run time and lum and cost. Down side, does not look helmet friendly... |
200 lumens / watt?
|
From the runtimes and guessing a realistic 2000mAh 4xAA (hope they're not using AAAs) power pack its probably a cree/SSC running around 450mA...ie more like 2w output.
32 degrees is pretty wide so I hope thats just the spill and there is a bright 10-15 degree spot in there. Wonder what the 5mm led is for? Also there isn't much of a difference between the high and low, 4.5 hrs and 6. Not much difference visually. |

be my boy be my boy stuck in the head... "There’s an online video doing the circuit which proves, beyond doubt, that Bigfoot not only exists, but takes size 12 trainers. He challenged the Yeti to a rumble using primitive gestures, determined to show online audiences that even though he looks a little smaller, he’s still capable of some serious action. Well, same thing goes for the monster-punch Gator 105. Switch it on and unleash the beast!" ? http://i127.photobucket.com/albums/p...untitled-1.jpg |
The knog catalog is better than the assos catalog!

I'll give Knog credit on the aesthetics of their lights. Very cool. Looks almost organic. Too many lighting companies seem to not care what their product LOOKS like.

Knogs are waay cool!
Thats a cool light :) |
3 models, all have the 5mm LED
105: 1-1watt LED 4 cell NiMH 305: 1-3watt LED 6 cell NiMH 605: 2-3watt LED 8cell Li-Ion I think the 605 goes for $300 with 450 lumen spot, 300 lumen flood according to the site. Very cool design, especially the battery pack. |

Well, from the looks of things...the affordable 200 lum light might be just around the bend:
http://www.singletrackworld.com/foru...7388&t=3347388 http://stores.ebay.com/Allteamgo_Bik...ftidZ2QQ tZkm 60 bucks for 200 lums with ok run time... draw back is that no batteries or charger... |
fwiw, the knog gator 605 goes for $210.99 from aebike.com.
maybe some good competition for all the dinotte 200L lights that are out there. now, if only i could find $200 under my couch cushions. |
