Dinotte taillight trouble

On my way home tonight the LED in my Dinotte just refused to turn on. The blue light on the back of the case comes on and blinks, but the main red light is off. The light is less then two months old and is in use for less than half an hour a day. I use Sanyo Eneloop batteries and charge them as the light prompts. Now the question: has this happened to any of you Dinotte users, is there a button sequence that resets the light, or do I need to go to the manufacturer for repair/replacement. Please let me know if you encountered this problem and were able to fix it yourself. thank you.

Was it cold ? That temporarily stops batteries from working correctly. There is a thread about Dinotte and batteries in the cold around somewhere.

nope, the light was with me at work all day, and when i took it off the bike this morning, it was working fine. i bought a set of fresh duracells on the way home just to rule out bad batteries. i also checked my eneloops, the charger indicates they're almost full.

A quick email exchange with Dinotte's customer service just determined that LED was probably faulty and they will replace it. I commend the guys for lightning-fast response and action, really something you don't see too often these days. By the way, there is a resetting procedure for the lights in case you ever find yours acting up, they emailed me a step-by-step list. Luckily I have my PBSFs to tide me over till the replacement comes.

Photo,

Please update us on this issue. I am very interested in hearing how this turns out. I got my Dinotte a while ago on the imfamous Oct/2007 sale. It snowed shortly after the I got my bike back from the LBS so I only had a 1-2 days riding with it before the snow fell. I have played with the light inside the home a often turning it on and such. I know when the cells are low even when the light is off because the light turned on once when I was not around where I store the bike inside the home and wondered why the light was on. When I tried to turn it off it won't turn off so I knew it was in emergency low mode and I disconnected the battery and charged my cells.

I probably won't be able to give the Dinotte it's full testings till around March if the weather is warm then.

I had a headlight do that within a couple of weeks after purchase. I had a really good experience with the company, detailed here: http://bikeforums.net/showthread.php?t=349056

Just email them and take it from there.

See post #4.

I was going to suggest trying a reset, but the OP should have a new light by this time next week.
