    Cygolite Dual Cross Interference with Cyclocomputer

    I have the Pro version with the li-ion battery and I am having some issues with it interfering with my cateye wireless. On Full strength light setting everything is ok no problem getting reception, but when I use the lesser strength light settings my cateye goes to zero. It took me a while to figure this out. So does anyone know of any to get around this? While not a big problem it is kind of annoying.

    I had the same problem with my dinotte light and sigma wireless computer. The way I have it working now is the signma is as far to the left on the bar as it can be which is right before the bar tape starts. The dinotte is on the right under the bar though I think it worked fine on top also I just prefer it under.
    The key for me was actually where the battery was mounted and the wires went. The battery is mounted on the right side of the head tube and there is minimal slack in the wire.
    It has been flawless for the last couple weeks so I'm hoping all is well.

    So it's the battery not the light unit that causes interference?

    In my particular case it was the battery holder area that was causing the most problem. I did alot of moveing of the light head unit, wire and battery. It isn't really the batteries but maybe the electronic noise being created by the light engine dimming the light that is being broadcast down the wire out the battery like a little antenna.

    In my testing I don't think I could put the lighthead right next to the computer but on my bike the computer seems to ignore the lighthead as long as it doesn't have line of site or was within 3". The wire was fine as long as it didnt' get in the path between the computer and the sensor but the battery is completely open and even the orientation when it was in one of those behind the stem bags was an issue.

    If I had that light, which looks pretty sweet, I'd try seeing if moving the battery/wire/light away from the computer helps. it is a free potential fix at least.

    Well the battery cable that it came with is only about four inches long and intended for the stem (also where the computer is located) and my cross top brakes pretty much limit my availability of space on the tops, I will have to play around with it or just deal with it.
