Comparing

Alright, I have narrowed it down, I think, to two Biking-computers.

The Cateye MC100W Wireless Cyclo-Computer

https://www.cateye.com/en/product_detail/281

And the Sigma Sport BC1606 DTS Wireless Cycle Computer

https://www.sigmasport.de/us/produkte...6ldts_cadence/

What I want, basically, is something that monitors the trip distance, TOTAL Trip(s) distance.. well.. that's what my question is about. Of course I want everything else.. but it looks to me like they are both the same. If not please point out why.

So both of them do total distance, but it's for bike 1 and 2... Oh wow, I just realized this is a stupid question so I'm not going to ask it - But I can ask, on the Sigma it hides some options. Is that good or bad, in your opinion (Talking to the people who have them)?

On to the second question. Does it come with the little magnet thing? It doesn't say it does.. I'm just making sure! I don't want to have to buy something else.

What would you suggest?

Thanks

Yeah they come with the little magnet things.
I own the 1606 in the wired version and i guess it did kinda irk me in the begining that the total odo is hidden when moving. When stationary you can view it to your hearts content. I just reccomended the wired version (i have a wireless aversion and there's no support group for that) in another thread, maybe i should go and edit that.

So you are recommending the wireless 1606L? You say it hides the total distance while moving.. but does it show the trip distance while moving? It has to show trip distance or I'm not going with it lol.

The Sigma computer will display the trip distance while riding. It actually has two trip odometers in addition to the total odometer. You can set the second trip odometer to count up or down and can set the starting distance.

This feature is useful for long distance riders who follow cue sheets and need to know when to look for the next turn. If you are just tooling around town, you'll probably never use it.

Well.. the most I will probably ever ride (for the next couple of weeks ) is about seven miles.. then we will ride out to the local lake... which is significantly farther. Sounds to me like they both do the same thing? Except Sigma has that little count up distance and count down distance feature you were talking about?

I want to order one soon.. like.. tomorrow lol

Thanks for the replies.

Sorry for the bump, but I would really like to purchase one soon.

If no one can compare these two, can they give me another suggestion? I want to stay around the 40-70$ range and I want it to be wireless.

I want it to have a TOTAL distance as well as a trip distance. And I want the trip distance to show while I'm riding. I don't care about the Total.. I'll look after I'm done.

Stop watch would be great. Must have a back light. The time, of course. Odometer.. lol.

Thanks
