Spokelights: Niteize, Monkeylectric or Hokey Spokey?

This morning, in the dark, I was relatively close to being hit from the side by a car which was crossing the four lane road at an intersection with no traffic signals. I assume he saw my lights (one good Fenix and a blinking inexpensive Cateye) but had trouble figuring out I was on a bike and trouble gauging my speed (probably about 25 mph).

I'm thinking that some good spoke lighting will help drivers with a side view of me know instantly that I'm on a bicycle, help them gauge my speed, and maybe be a bit more cautious.

Any thoughts on the best side lighting system?

If you order Nite Ize Spokelits, order extra batteries, too. Mine came with batteries in them that were dead within 5 minutes. Now that they have fresh batteries, they're quite bright and funky.

I got the Monkey Electrics on my recumbent because Hokey Spokes doesn't come in 20 inch. Whenever I ride downtown (small town) I get whoops and hollers from people loving the lights. I am going out tonight for Halloween, this'll be fun.

    Nite Ize LED spoke light
Nite Ize but you probably need traditional 28+spoke 3-cross wheels or I cannot vouch that they will stay in place. They work great for me but if you do not have the right spoke configuration then I would spend the extra dollars for the other products.

+I have black rims, spokes, hubs so I went with black reflective stape.
