problems with dinotte draining battereis when off?

problems with dinotte draining battereis when off?
I know atleast one person had a problem leaving their light plugged into the battery and having it drain. but it should not happen and I wonder if anyone else has had the issue. it would be a hassle to unplug it each day.

Well, it's going to draw a teensy amount of power when plugged in. The controller is monitoring that button non-stop as long as it has power.
Point in case: turn the light on, note what mode it's in, and turn it off. Now push the button one time while the light is off. Now double-tap the button to switch the light ON again. It's not in the mode you left it in, is it? That single-tap told the controller to change modes, even when it was turned off.

It's really normal behavior; i've seen the same thing. Just get into the habit of either recharging before a ride or disconnect after every ride, or both

I just got it friday and only used it once and I am waiting on some new cells. so till then I can't experiment on run times. but I will check it out.

got this right from dinotte tonight (hows that for service)
It does.. the switch is a non latching switch, so it's waiting to turn on
which is why you want to unplug the light when it's not in use.

if you leave the batteries in the dinotte they will drain slowly as the dinotte is always probing
for on or off, and also battery level
when the batteries drain really low from sitting around, the dinotte might actually switch ON, into fail-safe
and really drain them, until it shuts off again. at that point your batteries will be pretty flat

I was surprised when I went for a ride and my Li-Ion 140 tail light didn't last 10 minutes. It had been sitting for only a week unused. I unplug now. I wish the instructions made that clear (or maybe more clear).

I don't think they say it all all. they do say disconnect but not why.
