Are all C rechargeable batteries created equal?

I'm in the market for 8 rechargeable batteries, C size. Who makes a good battery and where's a good place to get them. I've read at least one good thing about Maha batteries and Thompson Distributing. Any opinions? I may also need another charger.

They are not all created equal. Eveready makes crummy C-sized NiMHs that have the same capacity as their AA cells (2500mAh). But they charge a lot more for the size C. The extra air inside must be expensive

BatteryJunction.com has good 6000mAh C cells, and smart chargers starting at $17.

check the maH rating. if equal to an AA, (2500 or so) then the C battery you have is simply an AA battery
in a C sized container for compatibility.

not really a bad thing, it allows you to use rechargables in C or D slots. what is evil is if they
are charging you more dough for the same MaH rating. and they do....

a proper C or D will have thousands more Mah than 2500, and be full of goop instead of air and an AA inside. it is a racket.

Maha is a company that doesn't screw u

mAh, not MaH or Mah
m = milli-
M = mega-
A = ampere
h = hour
