PB Superflash Stealth Blinkies 2 for $25 & free shipping

Found this on the Commuting Forum:

"Amazon has this highly rated rear blinky for a great price. At this price no excuse not to get one or even better two which allows you to also get free shipping."

Thanks - just ordered as I was shipping a buch of stuff anyway. Is this the one that is touted here as one of the brightest blinkies?

Is it red or white?

thanks for posting this, I was out shopping at the lbs for one and they don't carry them. So I bought 3 from Amazon.

I'm trying to decide how to mount it, is it possible to mount it sideways on the back of a rack? How about on fenders?

Also, it's a 1 for $12.73 deal with the 2nd link. No need to buy two unless you want to. (They are worth it, though.)

Instead of buying two as I already have a regular SF, I bought one Stealth and a Mars 4.0 that was on sale for $15 and change to qualify for free shipping. That was last night and it looks like the Mars 4.0 is back to the normal price while the SF is still on sale.

Sorry about the bad link. The same link at the original post in Commuting Forum is identical and does link to the Amazon item. Go figure! Of course you needn't buy two but if you do they ship free. Alternatively you can buy one and something else to bring the total to $25.00 and qualify. I got two myself (arrive Friday).

socalrider's link points to Planet Bike's Blinky Superflash .5 Watt LED with 2 Red LED Tail lights in a Clear Case (aka lens) for $12.73 (with free shipping if you spend more than $25)

White Lens

It looks like Planet Bike also sells the same light in a Red case (aka lens) for $17.19

Red Lens

Not sure why the price difference....it even looks like Bike Planet accidently used one of thumbnails of the Red Lens version to describe the Clear Lens version.

Likewise. I've seen a few methods mentioned for mounting these to the uprights of a rack, is there one method that anyone wants to recommend?

I don't have the official answer to this, but something in the back of my mind is telling me that something totally silly is at play here - such as a noncyclist product inspector at Amazon seeing two of the "same" product, and him thinking "WTF?! The CLEAR one gives of a RED light! Isn't it supposed to be RED if it gives off a RED light? We'd better discount these and clear'em quick before customers catch on and start returning 'em in droves!" LOL!

I'm surprised that with the BF run on the product that the price hasn't gone up like it did with the Vetta lights. I would like to jump on this because it's a good deal, but I already have four tail lights. What a dilemma for a bargain hunter!

Not good, then shipping is no longer free when buying 2. Maybe it was cheaper for them to drop the price, given the run on them, so shipping would no longer be free.

I'm confused as well.

1) There is the "Blinky Superflash" at $12.09 in white/black.

2) There is also the "Superflash Stealth" for $18.95 in white/black.

Is there a difference in light output, or is this just some amazon mistake/error?

Planet Bike only lists one light (Superflash Stealth) in black/white...

They appear to be The Same.

That's still cheaper than my LBS, they were about $26 when I was there yesterday. Glad I got mine before the price went up!

And I was waiting until tonight to get some (tomorrow is payday). I need 4. Dang it. That makes for an extra $30. I have to think about it now.

They are the same item described differently. My two arrived today. I mounted one up front and one off the rear the bike; all set to go tonight. They are red LEDs with a clear lens and black housing.

Maybe another low price deal will pop-up in the future. Will keep an eye peeled.
