Can Garmin 705 replace Powertap computer?
Can you access and download the full set of data gathered by the Cycleops Power tap SL + with just a Garmin 705?
It looks to me like you may need the Cycleops handelbar computer to access all the information the hub gathers, as the Ant + network data is a subset of the Saris network data.
It also looks like the Garmin 705 displays more data at once on the screen, but I saw that the 705 doesn't have a total odometer function.
Does anyone use the Powertap SL+ and the PowerAgent software with just a Garmin 705?

I've replaced my powertap headunit with a garmin 705 and have had no problems. I get all the information I got from the pt head, plus the information of the garmin.
As for a "total odometer" function, i can't remember if the Garmin has this (i thought it did), but ride analysis software (sports tracks, Training Peaks WKO+, etc) is able to do that for you.

I have an Edge 705 and the PT wheel. I have stopped using the PR Cervo computer as my Edge was doing just fine recording the data.
The Ant+ data is not a subset of the Saris data. It is a completely seperate data stream that contains the same data.
The Edge does not download to Power Agent so you will need to use an alterniative like WKO, SportTracks or something similar. Garmin Training Center will not display power data so it is worthless for that.
The Edge does has an odometer. It actually has three. You are able to build a profile for three different bikes and it tracks each ones mileage indepent of the others.

So a few questions?
Is there a zero torque option anymore?
Also I remember setting up the old computer to include zeros in the calculating of the average or something like that.. I dont see those same options on the Garmin....in fact there doesn't seem to be many options at all...that might not be a bad thing...
I have about 100 miles on mine so far...

Yes there is. It is found in the settings/ant + menu. You will see it at the bottom of the screen. You press it when you are stopped with your feet off the pedals.
You currently do not have the option of including zeros on the Edge. The average only includes the power readings when you are outputting power.
