Light & Motion Seca 400 LED Bike Light zoomZoom image Light & Motion Seca 400 LED Bik

I am setting up my new bike. I had a Blackburn X3 which was good but battery heavy and less lumens. Anyone care to comment on this light?

Looks nice, should be as good as a $50 torch.

(I'm a recent torch convert)

I'll second that. L&M Seca is as bright as a $50 torch but with a slightly better beam pattern, that's up to you to decide whether the difference is worth $300 or not.

Found One Cheaper

Found one (Light & Motion Seca Ultra 700) for 407.77 on Ebay. Still should be some available.

Projects 700 lumens for 5 hours on high (700 lumens), 10 hrs. on Medium (350 lumens) 20 hours on low(175 lumens) 100+ hours on Flash. 3 hour recharge time.Race mode skips the Medium and Flash modes, allowing you to conserve battery power on the climbs while keeping the High setting just a click away for the descents. "YOU CAN ONLY GO AS FAST AS YOU CAN SEE". That is the main reason for the purchase. Lots of mountain hills where I live.

That's quite a bit cheaper than retail. I wonder if it really comes with battery and charger?

I have seca 700 and like it very much. The light pattern and quality is excellent. I replaced my minewt x2 with it and love it. You sure can use torch for cheaper, but light coverage will be very different. I use my seca on road and on trail and it's important for me to see to the sides as well as the trail ahead. I didn't have that with a torch.

Also, the price quoted at REI is more than I paid for brand new seca 700, you may get a better price if look a little around

Yes it comes in a sealed case with everything included. I have bought stuff from this seeler before and he is reputable. Tried it out. Amazing light. It bot only shines far into the distance, but it is also designed to illuminate the areas around your front tire and and left/right roadside. Definately woth the $407.77 vs $550.00 - $649.00.. He still has some left: https://cgi.ebay.com/09-Light-Motion-...QQcmdZViewItem
