HRM+Cad for both cycling and running

    Hi,

Please recommend me a cyclometer that has both HRM and Cadence functions (preferably wireless), and can be used for both cycling and running. Is there one, or what might be the best solution? I've looked at Polar CS200cad, Garmin 305, Cateye V3, Sigma 1606dts, and do not find them sufficient. I currently use a Cateye Astrale (cadence not working).

    Cheers!

A few more for the list: Polar CS300, VDO Z2 and Z3, and the Suunto t3c, t4c, and t6c.

You didn't say what wasn't sufficient about the ones you listed. I'm not familiar with the Garmin, but none of the others in your list are really designed for off-bike use, largely because they're designed to mount on a holder on the bike. The Polar CS300, unlike the other Polar bike computers, is a watch-style, as is the Suunto. The VDOs have optional watch bands.

Thank you for the suggestions GaryBy.

I felt those models weren't sufficient because they didn't fulfil my requirements (HRM+cad+bike+run). The CS300 looks good, but looks like I'll need to purchase the cadence sensor separately.

What might be the most cost-effective solution?

you want the garmin forerunner 305, it has cadence as an option.. Best Buy has them on sale this week for 160.00, which is about 40% off original retail price.. You have to purchase the cadence option, but it comes with HR strap..
