Mounting Blackburn X8 onto handle bar - help =(
I just received my X8 lights. I have to say that I love them from what I can see. They are small and light weight. (except for the battery) Anyway. The problem I have is that the supplied clamps do not work with my road bike handle bar.
Does anyone know, or can suggest a solution? Maybe a 3rd party clamping mechanism?
Thanks !
PS. So far I plan to use one light on my helmet when I ride in the late afternoon, but I would much rather have a semi-permanent install on the bike.

Why don't they work? Too large? Too small? Another reason?

That can be a pain, but maybe it will save you some headaches.
I suggest sending it back and getting this one: for $89.00
https://www.geomangear.com/index.php?...roducts_id=138
OR
Dinotte for $119, long cord for helmet, or handlebar.
Batteries can go in back pocket or pack. There are also nahnlebar/helmet with short cords

By the time you adapt it the Blackburn, it may be not worth the money

The clamp is too small. I am wondering if I can buy a cateye clamp and retrofit it...?
Sorry im not sending back my X8. They are small and slick. Perfect for a road or TT bike as a semi perm solution (since I dont ride at night all the time)

Is the clamp too small even without those fat rubber pads? Would filing them down a little be an option? Or are the clamps way too small?

I got it to work
Well as someone previously suggested, I removed the thick rubber pads from the clamps and then I was able to mound the lights. I rode last nigth for a few minutes and i love my lights.
