best in ear headphones
I have just bought a mp3 player for listening to the radio on my morning commute.
It has those ear bud things and seems to generate a load of wind noise when I cycle along. I don't want to have to wear anything over my ears so I was hoping someone on here could suggest some headphones (preferrable discrete in-ear type ones) that would be better than the standard ones.
Any recommendations?
Thanks, Steve

oh, don't worry. I adjusted my search and found a couple of useful threads. I didn't realise it was such a contentious issue.
Anyway, this thread can be deleted mr/mrs moderator.
Thanks,
Steve

Oooooooofffff SALESMAN!
Speaking from personal experience, biking + headphones = pain.
Seriously, I got hit by a bus when listening to Pink Floyd on my Sansa Clip.

That's why I only use one ear bud. I don't wear them that much anymore, the headphone wire kept getting in the way when I was trying to mount my road bike.

I use the Nike Flight behind the neck headphones but place them just below my ear.. They stay in place pretty well and you still can hear the music while still being able to hear cars behind you..

Title: Etymotic ER-4P Portable In-Ear Earphones
Manufacturer: Etymotic Research
Forget the Bose Quiet Comforts, these IEM (in-ear monitors) give near perfect reproduction and total noise isolation. They do take some getting used to – you may gag when you first jam them in, honest – but the sound more than makes up for the minor discomfort. Trash your iPod earbuds and hear what you’ve been missing.

I love my UltimateEars SuperFi 3 -- https://www.ultimateears.com/_ultimat...rfi3studio.php
great bang/buck in-ear buds. They don't like rain, though (kinda ruined a pair this past Spring riding in the rain).

Since you didn't give a price range or other criteria, here are a couple thougnts.
Check out earphonesolutions.com and look at the Westone line. The Westones have consistently gotten good comments about transmitting microphonic noise on headfi.org.
Different earphones have different pros and cons. Check out headfi for lots more discussion.
