Mount light above handlebars?

My lighting needs are modest, at the "be seen" end of the scale. I had good results using a recent-vintage LED miniMaglite mounted to the handlebars with a DKG mount.

Then, as part of kitting my bike for touring and commuting, I got an Ortlieb front bag. The bag is great, but it extends above the level of handlebars enough that the light now shines on the bag, not the road.

Can anyone recommend a light mount that would lift the light about 4 inches off the handlebars? I'm not fixated on the Maglite -- I'd can get a different light if it comes with the sort of mount I'm looking for.

Thanks!

they make bar extension (s)(?). I think that's what they are called. it's alike a short broom stick that mounts to your bars for additional accessories. I usually see them mounted in front of the current bars but maybe you can mount it vertically

try to find the thread about bicycle cockpits - lots of pics!

I personally like my beam mounted lower, either on the left side of the fork or at the top of the fork in front of the headtube.

Topeak and Minoura both make mounts for adding accessories. Can be mounted to either the stem or bars
