Ahhh, the good old days... old-school Cateye taillight

I found one of these, brought back memories of 75-mile nighttime rides down the highway...

They were prone to losing contact at the swivel joint, weren't very bright, and didn't run too long. As best I recall, their main competition was sidewall-driven dynamo lights, the legendary Belt Beacon, and the little front+rear light that you strapped to your arm or your calf.

Funny you should find that one...I unburied my cache of battery powered lights the other day. I have 3 of those, two head lights and a tail light. I also have the D cell version headlight and tail light. Remember the old Polaroid Pulse lights? That used the flat battery.
