I'm looking for one of the rubber covers that slips over the drive wheel on a bottle generator. Does anybody know what they're called, and where I can find one?

Google is of no help.

?rubber boot? Generally, there is no standard for the size of dynamo rollers. If the manufacturer provides no such boot, it can be a matter of luck to find one that fits. I doubt you would have a chance to find any in North America. In Europe, presumably better stores would have some in their boxes. Note that the boot would yield a quiet operation of the dynamo in fair weather and lead to slipping during rain.

head over to a hardware store with the generator and look for a rubber cap that size

I'm assuming the drive wheel is slipping on the tire under load.
You can sharpen the teeth with a file with a bit of time and patience.

Or just replace the whole thing. Bottle dynos are €4 to €6 over here and are sold everywhere.

I'm looking for a rubber cover or drive wheel so I can run it on a tire without a generator track without scuffing up the side wall. But I'd also like a larger diameter drive wheel to lower the resistance.

You mean a racing tire? Or just one without a textured sidewall? Because my commuter has ordinary looking tires.
And you know a larger diameter wheel means you'll have to ride faster to get the dyno up to normal wattage, right?

You can use a water hose to fit over it.That will help with tire wear I done it to mine here and I have over 1000 miles on mine too and no tire wear as of yet from the generator on the wheel.
