Costco pocket charger 2 for $10, for edge 305

Costco has a Duracell pocket charger on sale $10 for two sets. Each set comes with connections for an IPOD and blackberry and 2AA batteries. The blackberry connection works on my edge 305.

Does it work with NiMH batteries as well as alkalines?

Not sure, the instructions just say not to mix battery types.

Is this the product you're talking about?

The reviews are not very kind.

I like this one better. It costs more up front, but it is rechargeable so you don't need to feed it batteries.

I just purchased one of these. https://www.gomadic.com/garmin-edge-3...-extender.html
• Backed by Gomadic's lifetime warranty.
• The ONLY product that will work with alkaline or rechargeable batteries.
• Provides enough power to recharge Garmin Edge 305 2-3 times from discharged state

I had my 305 give a low battery alert when I turned it on today. 2nd time in a year after recharging that I've seen this. So I ordered the Gomadic charger today.

I am not clear on why my battery was low. I connect it to my computer to d/l the data after each ride and charge it fully. It normally keeps a charge for a very long time (months).

Is it possible that the display can be off but the 305 still powered up? I turned it off, plugged it into the computer and it began charging. At some point I uploaded the data but never turned it back on. I got the charge completed msg and then unplugged it. That's the only thing I can think of that would have drained the battery after being charged less than a week ago before trying to use it today.
