edge 500 boots to diag screen

it boots up to a screen that lists:

    software version
    since resent
    time
    temp
    frequancy
xo drift x/no voltage backlight contrast altitude
    mxl: [pass
    ram: pass
    rom: pass
    tzmap: fail

sorry i couldnt post a pic cuz i lost the cable that connects to my camera.

i tried holding all 4 buttons and it reboots, but goes to the same screen.
i also deleted the newfiles folder but it didnt change.

right now, i guess im waiting for battery to die and retry then, unless someone has other suggestions.

    thanks.

I'll take a shot at it. It's possible that the software has corrupted which will require a reflash. My Garmin Nuvi did something similar. Luckily working with tech support they were able to talk me through the steps that would get it to reflash.

Typically there is a Hard reset button somewhere on every electronic device. If you can find it (normally very small near the battery somewhere) push and hold it for 5-10 seconds. It should reset. Good luck.
