Magicshine green light/red light question.

Sorry if this was covered in the 37 page Magicshine thread, I couldn't make it through there and didn't find the answers there.

I've had the red light come on several times now when connecting the battery and light head after the battery had been used but still had a charge. Turning the light on causes the indicator light to change from red to green, and it was still green at the end of the day after at least two half hour rides with the light on. Is this normal?

I switched the light off while cooling off outside (without disconnecting it) last night after riding home, and the indicator light changed from green to red. There was about 2 hours use within less than a week on the battery, and the indicator light changed back to green when I turned the light back on and then back to red when I turned the light off. The light worked fine on my trip home,is this normal too?

Don't know if it's normal/intended, but mine does the same thing. I'd always chalked it up to some sort of faulty design. In the end it doesn't bother me as long as the light keeps shining.

Mine hasn't done this. Weird.

I have not found that the red/green light does squat other than change color once in a while. If it's green, the battery is probably fairly fresh, apart from that it's random. I can put a freshly charged battery on it and have it come up red, unplug and plug back in, it's green, do it again, red, etc. It used to turn red about 3:10 into a 3:15 runtime. now it sometimes turns red 30 minutes into a 3:15 runtime, or maybe an hour, or two hours.

Random.

I just charge the battery every couple of days, and keep a P7 flashlight on the bars if I misjudge.

That's exactly what I've experienced, to the letter.

Went to leave for work this morning, and my light wouldn't stay on. Upon inspection I found the wire frayed right where it enters the female (battery side) connector :(. Maybe take a look at yours to see if it's showing signs of wear. Really pretty irritating because I'm always very careful with this thing and it's not very old. Gonna see if I can't get it fixed under warranty.

yeah, that's all pretty normal. give it a charge, you don't have to drain all the way it to charge it.

Mine has done that on occasion. I take it as a warning of the battery not being full.
