Garmin Edge 305 memory capacity

I have a new Edge 305 that I want to use for a 4-day trip coming up in August. I have an external battery pack that will charge the unit every night, but I have no way to dump the ride info every night (no computer available). Does anyone know what the memory capacity is for the 305? Would I be able to store four days worth of information (~70-80 miles per day, 6-7 hours per day) without it overwriting old data?

I did 7 days in Oregon and dumped into my wife's computer every night. When i got home I sent it to my computer and was surprised that it had all the data from the ride, none of it had scrolled out. So you might be OK.

That's good to know. I have about 10 rides in the 305 right now and it hasn't overwritten the old stuff, but these are relatively short rides of 30-40 miles and only 2-4 hours.

I have a 305 Forerunner and I've got 90 hours/2000 km on it after 5 months. Stay away from the automatic lap counter and you should have plenty of memory.

How about capacity per ride if you have the data points optimized? I want to do the 160-mile RAIN, which is a single day event. My approximate time would be 10 hours.

I have the Forerunner and not the Edge so I can't say for sure, but 160 miles wouldn't be a problem on the Forerunner. But the 10 hours is the listed battery life on a Forerunner. The Edge claims 12 hours so it might be okay.

The big limitation I ran into on the Forerunner is 1000 laps. By not turning on the auto lap, a lap is as long as you tell it to be so for me each ride is a lap. I've never tried a 160 mile lap (I couldn't ride that far before the battery ran out anyway) so I can't say for sure.
