Any heart rate monitors - wrist wateches?
I had surgery on my chest a while back and can't comfortably wear a chest strap? Does anyone make a heart rate monitor that can be worn around the wrist?

quick google search came up w/ this: https://wristheartratemonitor.com/
article states it's great for runners and walkers but not so great for cyclist as you have to use your hands to physically touch the contacts, but it might work out for you in your case.
hope it helps
cheers

Thanks for the feedback i guess I should have been more clear. My wife has one of those and it works great but like you say you have to use two hands. i would think that there could be something that straps around the wrist.

I looked for such HRMs about a year ago and found that while there are products on the market, they are not very reliable because the contact of a watch with the wrist is poor and the signal much weaker. So while you may buy something, they are not good at all. Companies sell them because there is a market for such models and if people are willing to buy, surely they are willing to sell. If your discomfort will go away one day, you may want to wait and use a chest strap then. Also, some chest straps are more comfortable than others

i was looking at the numetrex cardio shirt, and also the adidas adistar fusion shirts that have the sensing gear built into the shirt (sports bras and tank tops for women) that eliminate the need for a the chest strap. they are compatible with the polar watches so you can just swap them out.
i've tried checking the Running room a few times but never been able to find any in stock here in vancouver.
