Is there a simple air gauge for a presta like the $1.99 one you can find at auto stores for a schrader?

I just wanted to check my pressures and all I have is the frame pump and didn't want to drop $30 on the only one the LBS had (digital).

My sidewalls call for 100psi.

Use a presta to schrader adapter. This will allow you to use a digital automotive tire gauge. Kmart has the Accutire Digital gauge for $8. It uses three LR44 batteries (included). Range is 5-150 psi +/-1% and 0.5.

Or do what I did, and drill the rim and use schrader. I used presta for a couple of years, and honestly I don't see the attraction. I don't have any trouble reaching 100+ PSI with schrader, and I don't lose pressure particularly fast. I'm really starting to think people use them just for show, because they're different than department store bikes.

There are some $10 to $15 ones online. I've got a couple kicking around in my tool box, but to be honest I rarely use them and just go by what my pump gage says.

No KMart in my state. Walmart doesnt have them. I could try Target.

I only use gauges that are labeled "patented" and they are never $1.99. I'm a shrader man for more reasons than I care to share out of respect for presta users.

I think any digital pressure gauge is accurate. I have 4 of them from various manufacturers, between $2 and $15 paid for them, and they all read within 1/2 PSI of each other.

Way better than analog tire gauges, especially those horrendous pen sticks. If you got within 5 PSI with those you were lucky. Dial gauges were fine...until you dropped them.

I've got 2 nice pens sticks. the crummy ones give a different reading each time. not these babies. I can read them accurately to within 1/4 lb!
