Lighting
Okay I cannot afford an sort of expensive lighting system, what I have been using have been two Cateye Uno's they take a single AA battery each and do a good enough god for me to ride with, but I am going to be ordering my new handle bar bag soon and that will block the lights. What are my options? I tried to mounth them on the forks and was successful but they twist easily so if they were to stay mounted there I would have to Hot glue them in place to keep them lined up but I don't know how well the will work down there.
Any suggestions? the Uno's were great because I did not have to fork out a fortune in bateries and they used a plain AA which you can buy anywhereI could fork out for maybe two mor Uno's and run 4 when I need the light mount them all on my forks and dab them with hot glue so they stayed in line. Other than that the only other options I have seen are in very expensive lighting systems and I am on disability so ever penny counts for me.

A Topeak bar extenders might work, you can mount the light on the extenders and pivot the extenders high enough to clear your bag, but that will depend on how much clearance you need.

This was my first idea, but I am going to have to pivot the bag up to give me a little extra room on my Crosstop levers, and therefore it wouth interfere with the bar extenders.

This has been my idea I have been looking at the most. I would still mount the cateyes on the forks but I would set them to flashing to boost my visibility and but a helmet light for vision.
Does anyone know a decent helmet light that won't cost me a million in batteries? I wear a skater style helmet that it would be going on.

Touring and daily riding, I just don't want one of those ones that pop up on ebay and use 4AA batteries and you turn it on and you can't see 4 feet infront of you. If it is bright and efficient I will go with more batteries, but my main though is not my daily riding but something that can be used when I am on tour and don't always have to opportunity to recharge them.

I have decided on a Black Diamond Head Leap it seems to be the best bang for the buck.

Or are you just wrapping the flex-tight bracket around the fork? If so look here...
You can get a helmet mount for the cateye lights.

With the Nob shown above, you could use this https://www.fenix-store.com/product_...roducts_id=388 to mount a tactical light on the fork, where it might be better for a longer, heavier light than you would want on your head. Of course, for all of the tactical lights, the big advantage is that they're made to be carried, so using them off the bike as well is more practical.
I don't work for Fenix, but I do work night-shift security, (and my company doesn't pay for the light or batteries) and I've been very happy with their products in my line of work.

You must not come to this forum much.
Any regular here can tell you that these two lights will blow the heck away in price AND performance of your wimpy CatEye UNOs.
AA solution: Fenix 2 x AA ($50ish) or Romisen or Terralux ($25ish, same brightness). Mount with twofish lockblock or use a piece of inner tube to have a rock-solid secure mount on your helmet that works better than commercial ones.
Brightest solution: Magicshine ($100ish). 600+ lumens, 3 hr runtime for real.

OP- what kind of touring do you typically do? Sleeping indoors or out? And how much riding do you do at night?
