Garmin Edge bar mount broke. Any ideas?
I just recieved a used Garmin Edge 205, and the handlebar mount broke the first time I installed it. The little latch/release lever broke off. It feels very cheap, and if I get another of the same I feel it will break as well.
Does anyone have any ideas for an alternate mounting system? Otherwise, does anyone know where I can find an edge mount in Salt Lake City? REI doesnt carry them.
Thanks in advance

Was the mount new or used? The plastic does get brittle with age if it is out in the sun a lot, but it should last for a while. My Edge 305 is 5 years old or so (more than 20,000 miles of use) and I've only had to replace the mount once. Amazon sells them for $10.

they break all the time, I have broken at least 3 of them.. Best place is ebay, buy a couple of them.. When clicking in and out, just take some care..

If the unit is still under warranty contact Garmin, they'll replace it. There is a newer version that's a bit more durable. Same design, but must be a different material and not as brittle. Not under warranty there are a lot of oline places that sell them. My preference is GPS City.

yep, definitely write them. my buddy broke his, wrote in, and got a freebie. I broke mine, didn't write, and didn't get a freebie. (never hurts to try!)
