"Going the "AA" route - anybody know where to get battery carrier/ bags?

I'm going to use 6xAA battery pack with some of my lights and want to know if anyone knows where I can get fully enclosed carriers. Waterproof would be neat as well.

All I can find are the simple cheap plastic holders with 9V terminal tops. I've been using one with a velcro strap and some plastic bags but would like something a little more durable.

Thanks.

Wayne at elektrolumens used to use 6aa battery packs for his older bike light designs, drop him an email and maybe he can point you in the right direction..

i had to make a customize 6V sla battery holder for my older halogen lights. i used the otterbox to house the battery and charging regulator and drilled a single hole for the cable, and sealed with silicone. it works fine, and i have had it in torrential rain. i have never been able to find any off the shelf waterproof battery housings that were ready to use as is, for use with my own batteries.
anyways, the otterboxes are not expensive, and may do the job of protecting the battery assembly.

Make them..

I soldered a string of 5 radio shack D cell battery holders in a row, and in series wired,
[a rechargeable battery is 1.2v]
and tied the strip of then to the dowel stick inside across the width of my Brit saddle bag.

Love the link to ElectroLumens - now I know where the cool flashlights are at - and I deserve one of those bad boys...

Thanks for the ideas.

Try one of the carriers used for dog mushers. They are bulletproof and have good connectors. Google Dog Mushing Supplies for a retailer.
