Radbot 1000...did they change the flash pattern or is my new one broken?

I ordered my first Radbot 1000 from Amazon a few weeks ago. It was being sold by some other shop, but fulfilled by Amazon. No problems, wonderful light. I decided to order another and this time it was sold by and fulfilled by Amazon. The two look identical, but not so when they are turned on. Both look the same when set to steady and the pulse mode (not sure what PDW calls it). Where they differ is #1 has a flash mode where it flashes crazy, then pauses for a slow burst, then goes back to flashing, pulse, etc. The new one just flashes like crazy without that slow burst ever coming on which is similar to the PBSF flash mode. I really like the way #1 works and just want to know if I return #2, will the next one have the same flash pattern? Did Portland Design Works change the circuitry and this how all the new ones will be? I'm disappointed as I think that is the best mode.

I should have searched this forum before posting as it looks like another member addressed my question as this "cornea blitz" is the new mode. Oh well.
