Looking for a Light mount...
Okay, I've been reading, and looking, and looking some more.. I've accepted that flashlights work best and I already have a pretty awesome flashlight I would like to mount to my bike, but I have yet to find the mount for it. Anyone have an idea of someplace I can buy a flashlight mount for a https://www.surefire.com/G2-Led ?? I swear by Surefires, and this is just a lower end one of their LED's rated @ 80 lumens, plenty bright for night riding IMO, but I'll have a better idea after I've ridden for a bit to figure out the speed I would be riding at, and whether or not I'll need a brighter (reason for a new one 
) surefire. Most are about the same diameter, so I figure anything with a dual rubber coating would be great, protect my new carbon fiber road bike and flashlight as well.
And if any of you have any knowledge of Surefires and how they compare to other High Performance lights, let me know of your experiences.. just in case something might just be better (doubtful but there may be like a .00012% chance.. heh).. then again maybe theres a better light for biking.. don't know.

Having tried some of the DX mounts and also Two Fish mounts, I can say that Two Fish mounts are a far better product in every way.
As for the light, SureFires aren't nearly as bright as other lights currently being made, and also they don't accept 18650 batteries, which offer much better runtime than CR123 or whatever the SF runs off of.

lockblocks can be bought from usa dealer fenixstore for 7.50 or get a 3 pack for 16.00.. 80 lumen output is pretty weak compared to what is available on the market today.. A Q5 cree can usually put out 200+ lumens while the stronger P7 or MC-e leds are in the 500+ lumen output range..

Two Fish Lockblocks all the way. I've used and discarded just about all the others. The only other mount that's worth a rat's is a Mawri Mount but you have to figure out how to secure the slide-out part to your light. Two Fish Lockblocks will fit Surefire G-2's, P-6's and any other smaller diameter flashlights. I have several Surefires but they all stay home where they're safe. I tried them on the bike, but they're not bright enough even for my 10-12mph nighttime speeds.
I use two lockblocks on the handlebars with Crees and one on the fork holding a P7, underslung on a Minoura Fork Mount at the same level as the hub. Makes a great "to see" light at night or a strobe during the day. The Minoura mount allows lateral adjustment and the lockblock adjusts vertically. Plus, it looks pretty cool.
Do yourself a favor and don't even risk your G-2 on your bike. Keep it on your boat or in your camping gear and spring for a $25-30 Cree or P7.
The conduit clamp idea works but it's pretty bulky and ugly, and requires a wrench to take your light off your bike. That becomes a real PITA after a while. For a real low budget solution, you'd be better off with the innertube method.

x1 on the ziptie mount, I run slightly oversize handle bars on my commuter and I tossed out the rubber spacer and screw/nut and just used a strong ziptie threaded through the holes.

You Know!? For Kids!
I have only used the TwoFish lock blocks to mount lights to my bars and helmet. I have been very satisfied. I have three different lights, a single 18650 P7, a 3 x AAA led and a 2 x AA led, and they all work very well with the lockblock mounts.

i'm using the same ones, simply awesome, cheap affordable, and it gets the job done.
by the way i'm even using them UP SIDE DOWN, and it has never let my P4 fall down.
To change batteries i have to manually rip it off, and ply it apart, the holder it's that good

What about if you lock up on the street? Do you have to 'ply it apart' too? Sounds like a PITA if you need to take the light on and off regularly.

DX 13004 - the Fenix mount. Downside: rattles like blazes as the top and bottom sections are not a tight fit, and can't be tightened. I ended up epoxying them togther, then scrapped it in favour of 15342 -- cheaper and better. Recommended.

That charger from DX is known to have serious problems and really shouldn't be trusted as there have been counterfeit ones bought from DX that overcharge to dangerous levels. Check out the comments (not the reviews as they only post positive ones) on the sale page for more info.
There are US based sellers who sell the same charger which to my knowledge don't have the same issues as the DX ones.

Unthinking adoration of a company does no one any good, especially when it comes to possibly dangerous goods. I've bought plenty of stuff from DX over the years, I even placed an order with them yesterday, but I certainly don't trust anything from them connected to the mains, especially after others have had problems with the same product. I'm not so cheap as to try and save three or four dollars on an iffy product.

I am using this charger with a pair of new Trustfire 18650 2400mAh 3.7v Li-on protected batterys. The battery's seem to ship charged but I placed one in the charger and it is showing a solid red(no flickering to green) led even after 5 hours of charging, Is this normal? I placed the second battery in my torch and left it on for 2 hours to drain some power from it, I then placed the partialy drained battery into the charge and it also shows a solid red led (no flickering). How can i tell if it is charging? Should it not flicker green as other people have said? The charge shows a solid green led without battery inserted and changes to solid red when battery is in place.Can anyone help explain this. Thanks

You might try to unplug and replug the charger.

Yeah. Always works for me when my AA/AAA/9V charger remains Green after swapping charged batteries for empty batteries.

Thanks for the tip's, the charger is now displaying a green led after 6 hours of charging battery. At no time did it flicker green so i guess they must of changed the spec of the charger.

The latest batches seems to have cheaper circuit which does charge with lowering current instead of CC/CV. That means it is not blinking while charging and takes more time to charge. So, it behaves in the same way as TrustFire TR-001 does. Here is the charging graph (from TR-001 though; As WF-139 is a little bit more powerful, the time should be shorter)

Green leds just indicate when the current reaches some level. The actual charging is continuing actually (with low(ering) current).

Thanks for the tip's, the charger is now displaying a green led after 6 hours of charging battery. At no time did it flicker green so i guess they must of changed the spec of the charger.

It should be fine now, as long as you remember to unplug after every full charge. At least that's what I do.

The latest batches seems to have cheaper circuit which does charge with lowering current instead of CC/CV. That means it is not blinking while charging and takes more time to charge. So, it behaves in the same way as TrustFire TR-001 does. Here is the charging graph (from TR-001 though; As WF-139 is a little bit more powerful, the time should be shorter)

Green leds just indicate when the current reaches some level. The actual charging is continuing actually (with low(ering) current).

would it be safe to use this charger with unprotected cell's? would it stop charging at at the correct limit for battery

Nearly all the reviews are positive (I read them before buying) and equally nearly everyone that has one is happy with it.
So, in reality I'm just reflecting the average user.
I bought one and it's superb, several of my friends have them and they all use them very happily.
It isn't a case of me being a 'fan boy' it's just a case of honest representation.
A very small whining minority can easily cause a good company or good product to look very bad, simply because the 99% of happy purchasers don't make as much fuss as the whiners.
So to be fair, if you want a level playing field, let people that have had positive experiences speak about them without you attacking their every accurate observation.
ps. there's still no evidence whatsoever of any of the chargers being 'counterfeit'

I've gotten several peices of total rubbish quality goods from DX. When I mentioned the poor quality of their tailight mounts you replied with how great some other product you bought from them is, like that somehow changes the crap that they are selling. As for you being a 'fan boy', whenever anything negative is said about the quality of DX goods you chime in talking about how great everything from DX is.....that sure sounds like a 'fan boy' to me. Why you refuse to admit that DX sells some rubbish is beyond me, and a disservice to all who read your posts.
As for you representing the average user, that's complete BS; the average user knows to be damn careful what they buy on DX as the specs and quality of the same product frequently change. I'm not out to bash DX, what I'm out to do is give people a fair representation of what they really are. It would be nice if you'd do the same.
