    Hi Vag,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but this seems to be an SSC P7 lamp just like the magicshine lamps that are exhaustively reviewed on this forum. The magicshine is similarly priced, but has had battery issues (batteries not responding well to deep cycle draw or overcharging) and has been recalled. The makers of the magicshine lamps have recognized this and are selling protected batteries with the lamps now. Since you state that you have a "final sale, no returns" policy, I'm wondering if your one year warranty is worth the extra money over a lower priced P7 lamp. I see that your charger has overcharge protection, but the lamp just has a low battery warning, which leads me to believe deep cycling the battery will still cause damage.

I'm going to keep right on using my P7 tactical flashlights and just go through the hassle of using an external charger, because it's saved me a bit of money and I have a comparable beam to the magicshine or your 'titan.' Seriously, how are you going to launch a new relabeled product without any beam pictures?

If you are going to offer the same product as another brand, you should address that at least implicitly, especially if you are going to advertise in a community forum such as this that is so well aware of the established brand.

From the product pictures, it seems the only difference is the smooth bezel and the look of the button. I don't really see those as performance enhancements, so if there are advantages to your product or its design, enlighten me.

    Hey cc700,

Thank you for taking the time to review our website and write about our product. I will try to go through all the issues you raised. If I miss something remind me and I will edit

    Product Wise:
Is our product same with Magicshine:
Definetely not! Indeed we use the P7 LED as many other companies, including Lupine, do. The performance of a light is a combination of LED, reflector and lense. This combination in Titan is producing a totally different result. We are confident that we found the best combination between spot and flood light. (check beamshots attached, settings are same as mtbr.com uses for its reviews). Please also check our accesories. (Even more news on that soon)

Will our battery hold deep cycles draw and overcharge:
It is well known that Lithium batteries should not be completely recharged or overcharged.

For the overcharging problem , and to avoid burnign your house, batteries should have a good quality PCB (we do!), short circuit protection (yeap) and a good quality battery cell (we do, but soon I will post better news)

In order to avoid having your lithium battery completely discharged the user should take care of it. We do our part by providing 5000 mAh batteries, instead of 4400 mAh, something that practically means that you can run your light for longer time before your battery is fully discharged. (soon I will have even better news on this)

    Brand wise:
We have production facilities in Asia but our management is International (I am Greek, our founder is Canadian). We are riders and built lights for riders. We pay great attention to quality that is why we can offer 1 year warranty. And the most important part is that we are here (and we are the manufacturers) to listen to constructive criticism (Thank you for that) and to improve.

No return policy: You have a point. News are coming

Please remind me if I forgot something. I'll edit or post again!

Your English is impeccable, but pretty much everyone else knows the phrase, "Danger, Will Robinson." LMGTFY.

I don't see how the beam pattern in those pictures differs significantly from the magicshine. A more direct comparison may be helpful, but I hope you can understand that I'm just not that too keen on "hey, buy my product" posts without all of these questions and claims being proven against the competition.

    Hello,

Now I know who is Will Robinshon! Thanks. (Excuse me for my ignorance, this show was not so popular in Greece)

Posting on a Bikers forum about a new product is a good way to receive feedback, answer questions such as the ones yous asked and improve.

This is definetely not a "Buy my product" post. It is a "check out my new product" post that may result on sales indeed, but sales is not my primary aim. Feedback is my primary aim.

On the other hand I do not feel that I am the right person to post a comparison between Titan and any other light from an other manufacturer. What I can do it to stress the advantages of my light. Communities, bikers, retailers and other stakeholders are out there to judge and compare. What I can promise to do is provide you with the link once a comparison is publicly available.

Looking forward to more questions, comments, feedback and of course constructive criticism.

Is this light using a P7 emitter, your pics look like about a 300-lumen light, not something over 500 lumens? Looks like an Orange Peel reflector, do you have smooth reflector option to focus more of the light on the road and not get so much side spill.

    Hello,
The light uses a P7 emitter. Actually all the comments we got from people who already purchased our light are very possitive regarding our brightness. Definitely not a 200, definitely a lot more than 500 Lumens.

We could use many different settings to the camera and make a shootout for commercial reasons. Many companies do. It is not a bad practice but for now this is not our aim. We want to give clear information while some reviews are on their way and to be comperable with existing reviews.

Although we are very proud of the result we got from our current reflector (great combination of flood and spot light) we are currently investing some time on creating more reflector choises and soon some news will come out. If you have a specific reccomendation please write here or send me a PM. Your opinion matters. We have already implemented many ideas from mtbr.com forum.

    greets
    Vag

makes me wonder if the batteries and charger can be used with the magicshine stuff.

It appears from the specs that the Gemini will burn for about 1 hour longer on high then the MagicShine. Also the Gemini doesn't have all those stupid modes that I would never use; do we really need 5 modes? I don't, so for me keeping it simple works and Gemini did that with only 3 modes. Also the Gemini has different voltage input of 7.4 vs 8.4, and the mah rating is 5,000 on the Gemini instead of 2400. And the battery pack on the Gemini is smaller and clips to the handlebar instead of taking a water bottle cage.

I had the MagicShine and it was a piece of junk for me. But for a company like Gemini to come out with a seemingly better light and wanting increase in sales to only offer a 7 day full refund only until Jan 2nd is not good marketing, that should be a permanent offer, just part of the company's policy. The one good marketing ploy is that Gemini offers a 1 year warranty instead of the chintzy 90 days MagicShine offers.

And remember Gemini rep, forums talk and talk a lot. If you don't stand behind your product 110% and go beyond what is required, forum folk will bad mouth you on many different forums without end. The internet can be your worse enemy, or your best friend, you make it what it will be for you.

Another suggestion, work on developing a self contained rechargeable light so those of us who don't want to be bothered with a battery pack don't have to be bothered. Cygolite ExpiliOn 250 is great light, but maybe you could make something similar and brighter?

it would be nice if they made a tail light, I'm more interested in that then a head light since 95% or more of my riding is during the day

    Hello,

Thank you for the comments and the ideas regarding tail light and self contained rechargable light. We are currently plannign our future steps and so such ideas are more than welcome.

rekmeyata has a point regarding refund policy. There was a testing period for a month and after new years we will evaluate the results and decide on the refund policy. We are currently considering to extend the refund period.

For the ones concerned about the battery quality please check our news section. You will find very interesting and good news (UL listed cells that fit with headlights of other manufacturers).

    Gemini Rides,

Can your batteries be charged by the Magic Shine charger (which I believe charges at either 8.4 or 8.7 volts - not sure)? Yes, I'm sure your charger is better, but will their charger charge your batteries to full capacity?

The last I knew the MagicShiner was a 8.4 vol charger and the Gemini is a 7.4 if I understood their web site correctly. I doubt you could use the MagicShriner charger to charge up the Gemini. Maybe the Gemini rep can throw more light on the subject.

    Hello,

The maximum charging voltage for our battery is 8.45 V so it can be used with an 8.4 V charger but not with an 8.7 V one.
Nevertheless we cannot quarantee for the quality of chargers produced by other manufacturers.

It would be useful to specify the run times of the low and flash modes as well as high. 4 hours isn't very much if I wanted to use the light while touring, but using the low mode most of the time might be acceptable.

Danger Will Robinson? an apartment building? One of those here today gone tomorrow businesses? that's special. Kind of like those "big" businesses that run out of a mailbox in NY city. I hope you had the wrong address.

    Vag,

This thread has put some question and thoughts in my mind. Your packs are 5000 mah rated, and you are running a SSC P7 emitter most likely same as a MS light. You have a claim of 4 hours run time which is at least 30% more runtime than a Magicshine light and their pack combo. From the limited review I found, it's been claim that your light is brighter than a MS. How is this achieved? Are your 5000 mah pack a third larger rating than the MS pack? Are your driver more efficient? How about the last hour of runtime? Does it dim out any or does the regulator flatline very well? And what about electrical noise issue interfering with wireless sensor? Just curious and wondering.
