LOw and behold, I finally have my order. The other nice last touch is they require a signature for purchase. So the mailman tried to deliver, I was at work and so it went back to the post office.

So then it required a trip to the other end of town, and then a long wait at the post office to get them. This was hands down the worst online shopping experience of my life. I can't ever imagine ordering from them again.

I placed an order on Nov 30th, and it arrived today. Pretty consistent with my previous purchases, and hardly any slower than Niagara Cycle. I got this light, it's really powerful!!

Normally, I'd get a delivery notice in my box if I'm not home because they ship registered mail, but this time the mail carrier just left it in the mailbox. I'm really glad I didn't have to go stand in line at the post office five days before Christmas...

It should be at your local post office -- in the same zip code. So I'm skeptical about this "other end of town" claim, unless it's a tiny town.

In any event, when the order is more than $20 or so, they require a signature. It often makes sense to order each item separately -- so they'll not require signatures and will be shipped when ready, rather than the entire order waiting on one item.

In any event, just assume that DX orders will take five weeks or so -- if they arrive earlier than that, great, but if you need your stuff faster than that, buy it somewhere else, somewhere local.

Another good source for 18650 and other sizes of Lithium Ion rechargeable cells is Battery Junction. They are in Connecticut.

Old laptop batteries have 9 of them in them I think. If you can find a few of these, tear them open and usually you can find several good 18650 batteries in them. All you need then is the charger.

DX is annoying to deal with, but they are typical for Chinese mail order houses. Very few of the high volume companies like DX do any better. I've pretty much given up and gone to Cutter for all my led purchases, but they don't carry the cheap stuff or batteries.

Never again for Dealextreme. I still don't have my order!!!
Exactly same as my experience with Dealextreme. I ordered same from ChinaBuye, online gadget store and received it on time. Good service and easy tracking of the order and above all free mind without worrying about the order and money.
